572 HEMI 900+hp on Pump Gas

Pretty darn DEAD around here ???.....too early for the winter blues just yet fellas !

This outa fight off the doldrums.....
Nice little 92 Octane Street HEMI we did last Month, all carbs, no adders.
Only hard part was getting a soft enough Roller Cam Profile to live on the Street for a while, so maxed @ .634" Intake and .612"Exhaust.
Big Thanks to:
Tim @ FHO.....great place for HEMI parts in Canada WITHOUT those brokerages.
Mike Panetta at Diamond Pistons for the custom slugs from the Molds we sent.
Bob(tech) and Chase Knight at CRANE CAMS for working the new softer Cam profile.

Sacrifices a little with the Aluminum Block...but ran really well...no Detonation whatsoever on 92 Octane...see the Dyno Sheets

What is it going into?
1969 Plymouth Sport Sattelite, Full Bodied.

It's a replacement for a small block Mopar 408 stroker we built him about 8 years ago, that was 600hp N/A...800hp on the bottle.
He said he wanted...
"something about the same power as the SB on the juice.... but on strictly pump gas this time"

We "overshot" a bit covering our rear, far better than to come up just shy.

Man, I hope I get a half decent job next year so I could get you guys to do my 401! :) Good work!
NOTHING wrong with an AMC...I like the "nash" thing...and they make pretty darn good power as well !

Here's one we did this past spring....570HP and 532 Ft/Lbs
We offset ground the 401 Crank to make it a 425 incher just for shiats & giggles.
Really nice little street Engine that kinda leaves the Bowtie & Ford crowd all shocked with dumb stares ?
Wuzzat ??
Huh ??

Pump Gas
Eddy Heads/Ported
Flat Tappet Cam

I remember you telling me about that one! Little too wild for me, my 401 is about a 407 now - I've set my goals for a realistic 1h.p. per cubic inch. So, if I could hit a target of 400-425 I'd be a happy camper. Think I could hit that with some mildly massaged iron heads and 9.7:1 compression?

Oh for sure you can !
We've easily built on just over 500HP/407 which is 1.25hp/inch using mildly worked Iron doglegs with Flat Tappets, so IMO, 1hp/inch is easily attainable even with mild hydraulics.

The only suggestion I would make.... is to add a few simple Oil System modifications for reliability.
A guy doesn't have to go all Hawg Nuts for the full pop BullTear system as it gets far too $$$, if U know what I mean ?
but,
certainly some porting and Crossover work helps immensely(see the Dyno Sheet), and is cheap to do. The AMC V8 Oiling system is a weak link.

BTW, we have an AMC Torque-Plate, the " right" way to do things, which you are welcome to Borrow no matter where you go(Case of beer is std).
