How to turn a healthy sbc 383 stroker into a grenade!!!

Lets see... first you can't be a pu$$y when driving. 2nd, you have to regularly hit 6500 to 7000 every other time you drive the thing. 3rd, never turn out an opportunity to do a big a$$ burnout through as many gears as you possibly can.

ok enough of that..

I was out for a cruise yesterday with a girl and decided to stop in the tunnel on lower wynndel road to do a big stinky burnout... everything was a go when i let off the brake and smacked the loud pedal. On a normal day it would sing as loud as the pipes will go... but yesterday.... there was a nasty sound. sounded like something steel went through the fan... not the case as i recently installed 2 electric fans.
trailered it home, crawled under and saw a nice dent in the oil pan... NOT COOL. so i started the teardown. took the Carb off.. and there sat some small alluminum pieces and a chunk of piston ring.. Drained the oil and out came a few litres of water before any oil... noticed 2 rockers on either side of the engine, right across from eathother were loose. pushrods are way lower than supposed to be. thinkin cam got hit and took out a section letting the lifters to fall lower into the engine.
Will update as soon as she's out and disassembled. I just pray my alluminum heads aren't damaged.

Heads suffered some damage. i think its fixable.. i'll have to bring em to you Bob for your opinions though. Piston is in a million pieces. Rod went through the cylinder from clanging around(still intact) . Camshaft is broken. broke a lifter. oil pan is bent out of shape. No more stroker engine :( will make a good Honda though once recycled. hahaha. Most of the pistons still appear good. but i'll completely tear it down and clean and salvage what i can. twas a good engine for sure and will be missed..... until i build something with more power!!!! :D

Very sorry for your loss, that sucks for sure.

Aluminum Heads are always fixable, nuthin a tiger torch preheat and some Tig'in can't fill in, recut new seats, whatever, they'll be fine.

What are the results of the Autopsy ? Hypereutectic Piston Pin Boss let go ?

Gonna post any Pics of the carnage for the rubber-neckers ??

I've got the cure for your problems. How about a LS7 big block or a 396/375 HP short block. You can put any heads on you want.

I do have pics. getting them uploaded on here is the tricky part... i have little patience for that kind of thing lol. i'll see what i can do with some time. Big block would be fun.... Account says get real.. haha. only part of the head i'm really concerned about is one spark plug hole got ovaled and there's a small crack where it got squished. by the sounds of it it'll be easily fixable. Going to go for a big inch small block for the next engine again.
The Rod and Wrist pin are still intact and together. something on the piston must've let go... not sure though as its in a million pieces haha.
